Samsung SL25ASY CNC Lathe: Precision Y-Axis Turning Center with Integrated Machining
The Samsung SL25ASY CNC turning center’s Y axis adds integrated machining, providing machining capability on the workpiece that is not parallel or perpendicular to the spindle center line. The lathe uses a rigid, single-tube-type bed design (30-degree slant) to ensure minimum bending and torsion, even during heavy cutting and high speed turning operations, the company says. Speedy turret indexing and high speed axis traverse rates are said to reduce machine idle time and increase machine productivity. The subspindle with full C-axis capability enables milling, drilling and tapping on the back side of parts. A 10-hp Fanuc built-in motor provides fast acceleration with high torque.
The 12-station turret features a large diameter, three-piece Curvic coupling and 7,816 lbs of hydraulic clamp force.
