Precision Four-Axis VTC 100-4: High-Performance Shaft Turning Machine
Emag’s VTC 100-4 four-axis vertical turning machine is designed for the production of shafts ranging to 400 mm in length and 63 mm in diameter. The turning machine’s main spindle is capable of delivering 6,000 rpm and 144 Nm at 40-percent duty cycle. The overhead main spindle is located in the center of the machine’s upper section with a tailstock below. The workpieces are clamped between the main spindle and tailstock, and supported by a steady. X- and Z-axis travels measure 340 and 625 mm, respectively.
Machining operations are carried out by two turrets with 12 tool stations each. One station accommodates a workpiece gripper to convey the workpiece in and out of the machine, leaving 11 turning or driven tools for machining workpieces. The turning center is equipped with a fully integrated automatic loading and unloading system that loads and unloads simultaneously. Covered closed-looped conveyor belts on both sides of the machining area provide storage for raw and finished parts.
