Maximize Air Compressor Efficiency: Strategic Placement Tips

Were you aware that your air compressor’s placement will impact its performance? There are many factors to consider when determining the proper location for your compressor, especially if your applications are sensitive. Some of the most common include:

• Moisture. Moisture in any form, such as humidity or steam, doesn’t mix well with compressor electrical systems. Extreme moisture can also lead to rust or lubrication issues that hinder compressor operations. If you’re placing your compressor in a moist environment, discuss this with your compressor representative to see the best solutions.
• Airborne contaminants. While compressor exteriors shield the interior from most contaminants, excessive dirt, dust, and particulate matter can be an issue. Make sure to keep your filters cleaned and replaced according to your manufacturer’s recommendations!
• Extreme temperatures. Extreme hot or cold temperatures can negatively affect your compressor’s operation. Ensure that the temperature in the room where your compressor is housed falls within the manufacturer’s stated limits to avoid complications.
