The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking(EuroHPC JU) added new action pillars to EuroHPC JU’s mandate on the deployment of AI Gigafactories across Europe and the development of quantum technologies. The AI Gigafactories will provide advanced AI computing resources to European researchers, startups, and industrial partners. The new amendment widens the scope of Council Regulation (EU) 2024/1732 and takes the Europe’s AI Factories initiative to the next level with the AI Gigafactories initiative. The Gigafactories will be state-of-the-art, large-scale facilities that offer massive computing power, hosted in energy-efficient data centers supporting the full AI lifecycle, including the development, training, and large-scale inference of very large AI models and applications.

Sovereign AI and Quantum Computing Aspects Abound

Built on an environmentally sustainable compute infrastructure, the AI Gigafactories will reinforce the European Union’s strategic autonomy and competitiveness in advanced AI technologies. They will facilitate the development of powerful and responsible AI models trained on European data, ensuring safe, trustworthy, and ethical AI.

The new quantum technologies pillar will address the full quantum ecosystem, including different application domains of quantum computing and simulation, quantum communication, and quantum sensing and metrology.

Real-time analytics news in brief

EqualAI, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting AI self-governance, released the AI Governance Playbook for Boards. The playbook provides guidance for Boards of Directors to navigate AI oversight while balancing risk management and value creation, addressing legal and compliance issues that accompany the widespread implementation of AI. To that end, the playbook recommends four key steps for boards:

 GMI Cloud announced the launch of GMI Studio, a next-generation visual, node-based platform for building scalable AI content workflows. GMI Studio removes the infrastructure complexity, dependency hell, and technical gatekeeping that have prevented creators, teams, and developers from realizing their creative vision with AI. The solution enables users to combine multiple AI models, define custom workflows, and deploy production-ready content generation at scale, all without writing code or managing GPUs.

Microsoft released the Microsoft Quantum Development Kit (QDK), an open-source developer toolkit for building quantum applications. The solution provides everything needed, from simulators to a modern programming experience, for developers to build and execute quantum code, both locally and on quantum hardware. The QDK is integrated with VS Code and GitHub Copilot to help developers write, test, and execute quantum code.

Salesforce announced the expansion of MuleSoft Agent Fabric to automate the discovery of AI agents and tools across the enterprise, solving the critical problem of AI agent governance blind spots in the enterprise. MuleSoft Agent Fabric’s new capabilities are an ecosystem-agnostic solution to automatically find, identify, and catalog agents and tools like MCP servers across any environment. This update centers around new Agent Scanners, giving you the ability to automatically detect and catalog AI agents across Salesforce Agentforce, Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, and other agent platforms. 

ScyllaDB announced the general availability of its new Vector Search. The solution is built on ScyllaDB’s shard-per-core architecture with a Rust-based extension that leverages the USearch approximate-nearest-neighbor (ANN) search library. The architecture separates storage and indexing responsibilities while keeping the system unified from the user’s perspective. This design allows each layer to scale independently, optimizing for its own workload characteristics and eliminating resource interference.

Tacnode emerged from stealth and introduced Tacnode Context Lake and the general availability of Semantic Operators. The Context Lake system class is defined by Decision Coherence and is designed to support multi-agent systems. Tacnode Context Lake implements this system class by providing AI agents with a shared, live, semantic context layer, enabling coordinated reasoning and action at enterprise scale. With Tacnode Context Lake, AI agents can instantly share knowledge, update collective understanding, and act on data in milliseconds, accelerating intelligence across the enterprise.

VDURA announced the release of the Flash Volatility Index and Storage Economics Optimizer Tool. The Flash Volatility Index provides a transparent view into SSD pricing, tracking how flash media volatility translates into real-world cost exposure and how that compares to the current HDD market. The accompanying Storage Economics Optimizer Tool allows organizations to model total system cost across different storage architectures, performance targets, and media mixes, giving infrastructure teams a way to evaluate trade-offs before committing capital.

Partnerships, collaborations, and more

CGI announced the expansion of its global alliance with Google Cloud to advance the responsible, secure, and scalable adoption of Gemini Enterprise. The enhanced collaboration builds on CGI’s deep industry understanding and disciplined approach to enabling AI for ROI. Through the new multi-year agreement, CGI will equip tens of thousands of its consultants and experts with Gemini Enterprise.

Kyndryl announced an agentic AI-enabled modernization approach designed to drive quicker and more cost-effective SAP transformations for customers. Kyndryl’s new Clean Field approach focuses on creating a solid digital foundation for customers migrating from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA that is adaptive and versatile. The approach leverages the company’s collaboration with Nova Intelligence to apply agentic AI in the process of customizing and remediating SAP software code during the SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA migration process.

McKinsey and Amazon Web Services (AWS) launched the Amazon McKinsey Group (AMG), a new collaboration designed to help organizations achieve enterprise-scale transformations with speed and impact. AMG combines McKinsey’s strategy and end-to-end transformation expertise with AWS’s AI capabilities and advanced cloud services into an integrated team to help organizations move from vision to value faster. AMG integrates business strategy, advanced technology, and hands-on implementation within a single operating model. The collaboration aligns McKinsey’s business, digital, and executional capabilities with AWS’s advanced cloud and generative AI services.

The Pawsey Supercomputing Research Centre, through CSIRO, has signed a Letter of Intent with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), acting through its Global Research and Development Center for Business by Quantum-AI technology (G-QuAT), establishing a framework for integrating quantum computing capabilities with high-performance computing infrastructure. The collaboration leverages Pawsey’s leadership in HPC infrastructure and quantum systems integration with G-QuAT’s expertise in quantum computing technologies and quantum-AI convergence.

OpenNebula Systems announced a collaboration with Red Hat to make Red Hat Enterprise Linux available as an integrated, built-in option within OpenNebula. OpenNebula is widely used for sovereign cloud platforms, virtualized data centers, NFV/edge environments, and emerging AI Factory infrastructures. As part of OpenNebula’s subscription offering, Red Hat Enterprise Linux is available as an embedded operating system option for hypervisor nodes.

Rocket Software announced a strategic partnership with K2view to jointly deliver Enterprise Test Data Management (TDM) solutions for mainframe and other connected systems. The collaboration brings together Rocket Software’s DataEdge virtualization technology for secure, real-time access to mainframe data with K2view’s advanced data product platform, providing test data management, masking, and synthetic data generation capabilities. Together, the offerings enable organizations to blend and govern data across mainframe and distributed systems.

ServiceNow and OpenAI announced an enhanced strategic collaboration to power agentic AI experiences and accelerate enterprise AI outcomes. Bringing OpenAI models into the ServiceNow AI Platform complements a customer’s ServiceNow configuration management database (CMDB) while also offering native, embedded access to intelligence to further inform actions that will be taken within workflows. ServiceNow’s AI Control Tower then provides the governance and orchestration layer, giving organizations centralized visibility into how models are applied across workflows, how they interact with enterprise data and systems, and how AI-driven actions are executed at scale in a controlled, auditable way. 

Tangoe announced a new partnership with Kubex to deliver advanced cloud and Kubernetes optimization. The collaboration brings Kubex’s automated resource optimization engine into Tangoe One Cloud, expanding Tangoe’s FinOps-certified platform with deeper insights, smarter right-sizing recommendations, automation, and stronger governance across multi-cloud and GPU-accelerated environments.
