Hotraco’s Global Automation: Seamless Remote Control with IXON Cloud
Hotraco Group, known as "the system creators," is a leading provider of innovative automation solutions for livestock farming, horticulture, and crop storage. Their hardware‑and‑software bundles deliver reliable live data and sustainable performance, enabling customers to optimize outcomes for animals, crops, and people.
With a focus on innovation, customer service, and a worldwide dealer network, Hotraco has become a global player. To keep an overview of all systems, the company relies on the IXON Cloud platform and its own branded IXON routers.
Worldwide Service Made Simple
Hotraco’s dealers receive comprehensive training on the systems. For complex queries, they connect directly with the service department. The IXON Cloud portal and IXON routers, branded by Hotraco, enable remote support. The SyslinQ Remote App is available in app stores under the same name.
Remote service is a core value: “We recommend purchasing the router so we can deliver free, remote maintenance,” says Martien Selten, Service Manager. “In 90% of cases we resolve issues via VNC or HTTP; the remaining 10% require VPN access to our Linux environment, where we run SSH commands to inspect the PC.”
With a single click, any system can be accessed from anywhere.
One Platform, Unified Management
Hotraco now manages more than 1,000 IXON routers in the field. To maintain visibility, a hierarchical tree structure is used. The Hotraco account encompasses divisions such as Agri, each containing dealers, sub‑companies, and end customers.
Martien explains, "We prevent cross‑customer access while keeping Hotraco’s visibility over all systems. IXON’s model eliminates subscription costs—only a one‑time router purchase is required—making remote support truly free for dealers and installers.”
White‑Label IXON Products Add Value
The pre‑configured IXON routers feature Hotraco branding and remote control of touch panels via VNC. They are stocked in a virtual warehouse with fixed IP ranges. Upon delivery, activation is all that’s needed to bring the system online.
Martien notes, "IXON’s service is responsive and innovative, even in challenging situations."
Innovation Driven by Data and Collaboration
Hotraco partners with Wageningen University to embed smart alarms and data analytics. A fault can jeopardize livestock within minutes; the integrated alert system consolidates warnings so farmers can decide instantly—even from a restaurant.
Big‑data insights are harvested from multiple systems, providing actionable performance metrics. Data remains local and is synchronised to the farm management system via HTTP, all over TCP/IP. Hotraco’s continuous development keeps them ahead of the curve.
Customer data is protected: no external parties can access it.
“Our sales and product teams listen closely to customer feedback,” says Martien. “We deliver precise management data, integrating formulas and real‑time analytics, and keep it synchronized with the farm management system.”
