DMG MORI & Jungheinrich Launch Driverless Transport Solution: First AGV Demo Unveiled

DMG MORI and Jungheinrich have formed a partnership to develop driverless transport systems – and have already demonstrated a first product.

The company says the DMG MORI PH-AGV 50 (main picture) “heralds a new era of flexible automation solutions in intralogistics”.

Because the driverless transport system enables the fully automated loading and unloading of workpiece pallets on machine tools.

Christian Thönes, CEO of DMG MORI, says: “Automated Guided Vehicles – AGVs for short – are an important innovation component for the digital factory of the future.

“With the driverless transport system, we offer our customers another product in automation and digitization.”

Dr Ing Lars Brzoska, CEO of Jungheinrich, says: “Two innovation leaders are speeding up the digital transformation.

“Together, we are combining Jungheinrich’s expertise in the field of automated guided vehicle systems with the integrated technology and automation solutions from DMG MORI – thus creating significant added value for our customers.”

Automated transport systems can be used in an area-efficient manner and thus sustainably reduce transport times and significantly reduce assembly and logistics costs.

The flexible automation solution DMG MORI PH-AGV accelerates the material flow and ensures more flexible and productive processes in production.

The DMG MORI master computer LPS can also be used to further optimize all workflows in the production and administration of pallets.

The jointly developed autonomous pallet handling system can already be ordered.

The PH-AGV 50 is modularly expandable, moves with precision laser navigation technology completely freely in the production halls and aligns itself optimally to the machines.
