The Germany-based chemicals company, BASF, and the Research and Development Centre of Guangzhou Automobile Group has announced the introduction of three co-developed electric concept cars in China, Automotive World reports.

Having been rolled out at the Auto Guangzhou 2018, the futuristic designs have been unveiled to appeal to a wide range of people and aim to meet their needs such as senior citizens or female drivers.

The three two-seat concept electric cars, which have been designed by GAC R&D Centre along with advanced prototyping support from designfabrik, are set to conform to the trend of the increasing number of people car sharing.

Zhang Fan, Vice President, GAC R&D Centre, said: “Car sharing and electrification are highly important developments in the world’s largest auto market. Additionally, the needs and individual style preferences of Chinese drivers have become more diverse due to an increasing number of female drivers and senior drivers.”

“BASF’s innovative materials enable flexible design and extended functionalities that best serve the different styles in our concept vehicles.”

With the new solutions including innovations such as holistic air cleaning solutions to seat fabrics, BASF are aiming to provide a number of new features to the concept cars.
