Sepro Unveils OptiCycle & Live Support Apps to Boost Robot Performance
At the recent Fakuma show in Germany, Sepro of France unveiled two groundbreaking software applications designed to elevate the performance of its injection‑molding robots. The company, with its U.S. office in Warrendale, Pa., highlighted that the apps can be deployed on both new and existing robot systems.
OptiCycle, the first application, streamlines robot and machine cycle optimization. Developed in partnership with leading global accounts—including a client that upgraded 200 of its 400 Sepro robots—the app delivers "expert logic" that simplifies cycle evaluation for programmers of all skill levels. As a plug‑in for Sepro’s Touch 2, Visual 2, and Visual 3 controllers, OptiCycle prompts operators to answer a few questions and teach key points in the Visual software; it then automatically calculates optimal standby positions, predicts ejector actions, and recommends end‑of‑arm tooling and injection‑machine stroke adjustments. Users report up to 40 % faster robot in/out cycles, 5 % overall cycle time reductions, and up to 10 % gains on larger presses.
The second app, Live Support, will launch later this year and offers remote technical service, troubleshooting, and hotline access directly from a smartphone. A USB stick establishes a Wi‑Fi link that streams robot data to the phone, then to the cloud and Sepro’s support center. Customers can initiate service requests, log concerns, and provide detailed robot status simply by scanning a QR code.
