Choosing the right industrial sealant is critical—incorrect selection or application can lead to costly failures.

Here are five key factors to guide your choice:

  1. Wide‑temperature stability – High‑quality sealants must perform across a broad range, typically from –85 °F (–65 °C) to 599 °F (315 °C). Selecting a product that remains reliable beyond the expected extremes protects against unexpected temperature swings.
  2. Weather and chemical resistance – UV, radiation, and harsh chemicals can crack or degrade low‑quality sealants. Opt for formulations that resist weathering and resist reactions with common pollutants and industrial chemicals.
  3. Bond strength – Durable adhesion to glass, ceramics, wood, masonry, metals, and plastics depends on chemistry, cure type, and substrate penetration. A high‑bond sealant ensures long‑term integrity.
  4. Electrical properties – For electrical applications, many organic sealants are unsuitable. A premium silicone sealant offers superior dielectric performance and reduced risk of electrical failure.
