Chip Shielding for Air Guns: Protect Operators from Chips & Coolant Splashes

Upgrade is a good thing, specially when comes to ease the machine shop processes.

Here is an upgrade for the safety air guns.

Air Guns Usage in Workshops

Air guns are normally used with every machine in workshop to remove chips and coolant from the finished parts.

Air guns must also be used when machinists are going to change the insert on a cnc lathe machine cutting tool. Machinist must first blow air through the hole of the cutting tool clamp screw, so any small chips inside the screw head are removed.

Problems While Using an Air Gun

In the above mentioned both processes the machinist (operator) have to take extra care while using air guns, due to high air pressure some of the chips or coolant splashes might spread on the machine shop floor or they might target the operator itself in reverse.

So what is the Solution or Upgrade for the Air Guns

The solution is Chip Shields.

Chip Shields are a durable polycarbonate shield that protects operators from flying debris often associated with blowing chips off machined parts.

Chip Shields are also great for keeping coolant from spreading everywhere during drying operations.
