Dual‑Axis Vertical Turning for Mid‑Sized Hard Parts – V Series Performance
The V series offers dual-axis capability for challenging configurations in hard materials. Designed for heavy metal removal, Okuma & Howa’s V35R offers a maximum cutting diameter of 13.78”, a maximum cutting length of 16.93” and a maximum swing of 19.69”. A 30-hp motor powers the spindle, with speeds ranging from 25 rpm to 2,500 rpm. A chuck diameter as large as 18” with a through-hole diameter of 3.03” can be accommodated.
Capable of handling parts as heavy as 551 lbs, the vertical turning center also features X- and Z-axis travels of 9.25” and 16.93” respectively. Rapid traverse on both axes is 787 ipm.
Constructed with a vibration-dampening column and flame-hardened box ways, the turret holds as many as 12 tools, and it is equipped with a 9.84” diameter curvic coupling, exerting a clamping force of 12,787 lbs. Other features include an indexing time of 0.6 seconds and the Fanuc 18i control.
