RT950F4-6.5: Four-Axis CNC Lathe for Turbine & Wind Power Precision
The Ryazan Machine Tool Plant offers the RT950F4-6.5 four-way bed CNC lathe, which is suited for turbine repair and the wind power industry. The four-axis lathe has a 74" swing and 256" between centers. Workpieces can weigh as much as 35 tons without steady rest support or 40 tons with a single steady rest. The bed design allows the carriage to pass both steady rests and tailstock without disturbing a setup, the company says.
The company says Fanuc Oi four-axis control and Fanuc drives and motors should make this model attractive to a large number of shops in the United States. The fourth axis has a 25-kW (30-hp) ISO 50 taper milling head with Y-axis vertical travel, allowing contour milling of slots, keyways, splines, bolt patterns and more. The milling head can be removed and replaced with the included heavy duty H4 auto-index turret head.
The lathe features a double rack-and-pinion Z-axis drive with scale feedback. This allows for high accuracy and virtually unlimited center distance. Its heavy-duty tailstock has powered body travel, powered quill travel, powered way clamping and built-in live spindle bearing with load monitor.
