Doosan Lynx 220 Turning Centers: Speed, Power, and Precision

Doosan’s Lynx 220, a family of five turning centers, features chucks ranging from 6.5" to 8.25", including the Lynx 220G with an extra long, 17.7" X-axis travel and the Lynx 220LM with live tooling. Each is equipped with a 20-hp spindle motor. A 30-degree slant-bed maintains a minimal and constant distance from tool tip to guideway and virtually eliminates deformation under heavy loads, the company says. The design also enhances chip flow while enabling easy access for loading and unloading material, replacing chucks and tools and repositioning the optional tailstock. The headstock is mounted on the same plane as the optional tailstock. The spindle is supported by double-row cylindrical roller bearings with large contact surfaces for high precision during heavy loads. Spindle speeds range from 4,000 to 6,000 rpm.
