Okuma Genos L250E Horizontal Lathe: Unmatched Stability & Precision
Okuma’s Genos L250E horizontal lathe offers an 8" chuck with an 8.26" maximum turning diameter and accommodates workpieces as long as 500 mm (19.69"). The multi-function lathe is constructed on a one-piece cast iron base with a horizontal way system. The headstock and tailstock mounting surfaces are hand-scraped for increased stability and accuracy.
The lathe provides speeds ranging from 79 to 4,500 rpm. Rapid traverse rates are 20 and 25 m/min. (787 and 984 ipm) in the X and Y axes, respectively. X- and Y-axis travels measure 160 × 520 mm (6.3" × 20.47"), respectively. The L250E is equipped with a hydraulic tailstock quill, manual touch presetter and chip conveyor. The machine’s One-Touch IGF provides a quick, easy means of creating programs at the machine tool by describing workpiece geometry with simple commands, the company says. The lathe also is equipped with an eight-tool turret said to provide indexing times of 0.3 sec., and a 12-tool turret is available as an option.
