Enhanced Stability with YMT's 30° Slant Bed in the TTL-20 CNC Turning Center

YMT’s TTL-20 6" and 8" CNC turning center features a one-piece ribbed Meehanite casting and heavy headstock to withstand high-production cutting operations. The high speed turning center’s 30-degree true slant bed provides a lower center of gravity for increased stability and more efficient chip disposal. Heavy-duty roller guideways combined with a 20-hp spindle motor are said to increase cutting capacity and chip removal rates. The axial motors are direct-coupled, and all precision-hardened and ground ballscrews are pre-tensioned to decrease thermal deformation and improve accuracy.

A high speed, 10-station servo-driven turret supported by a reinforced saddle provides an indexing time of 0.2 sec., the company says. The turret accommodates 1" toolholders and 1.5" boring bar holders. Twelve-station live tools are available as an option for performing milling, drilling, tapping and turning operations. The heavy-duty hydraulic tailstock offers a 2.75" programmable quill diameter and provides an “easy position” feature that attaches the tailstock to the turret. The compact turning center is equipped with a chip conveyor, a bar feeder interface, a heat exchanger for the electrical cabinet, an automatic power-off function and an automatic lubrication system.
