Sodick’s Proprietary Linear Drives Enhance Machine Precision and Reliability

Sodick’s five-axis K4HL CNC small hole drilling machine and AL G series of rigid linear motor driven die-sinker EDMs feature Sodick’s proprietary rigid linear motor control technology for what the company says is outstanding accuracy and performance.

The company recommends its five-axis K4HL CNC small hole drilling machine for applications requiring the high-speed drilling of thousands of small, high-precision holes — such as in the aerospace, medical and electronics industries.

The K4HL’s electrode changer, electrode feeder and automatic guide change design enable extended, unattended machining of intricate parts, and its compact design with clear work table access is compatible with both fully automated loading systems and manual loading of work pieces. Full three-axis contouring and orbiting supports the machining of small, high-precision diffuser holes often found in jet engine blades and vanes.

The AL G series of rigid linear motor driven die-sinker EDMs featuring a high-performance SP controller is part of Sodick’s next generation of precision die-sinker EDMs, incorporating a fusion of the company’s rigid linear motor control technology, advanced discharge control technology and artificial intelligence.

New features for the AL G series include Sodick’s “SP Power Supply,” “Arc-less 4 Circuit” and “LN Professional AI software.” The company says AL G’s technological upgrades give it outstanding accuracy, speed and enhancements when working with precision parts and molds.
