RAMTEC Launches Robotics Training Hub in Marion, Ohio

RAMTEC, which stands for Robotics & Advanced Manufacturing Technology Education Collaborative, opened recently in Marion, Ohio, in partnership with Marion Technical College, Tri-Rivers Career Center, and The Ohio State University at Marion to bring needed robotic manufacturing skills to the area’s residents.

The three schools listed above worked together with robotic companies like RobotWorx, Honda, Fanuc Robotics, Lincoln Electric, and Yaskawa Motoman to introduce industrial robotics operation and advanced manufacturing skills to the central Ohio area.

Companies like RobotWorx, which is based in Marion, Ohio, understand that manufacturing skills are sorely lacking in the job market today. While older generations saw manufacturing as a viable means to make a living and support a family, today’s students are more focused on jobs outside of the manufacturing sector. That leaves a huge hole in the hiring pool when manufacturers need to hire material handlers, assemblers and welders to complete their production.
