PCAN‑MicroMod FD: PEAK‑System’s Flexible CAN FD & I/O Module, with Evaluation Board, Kit, and Ready‑to‑Use Motherboards by Year‑End

PEAK‑System Technik introduces the PCAN‑MicroMod FD, a plug‑and‑play solution that integrates a full CAN FD interface and versatile I/O into any custom motherboard. Developers simply mount the CPU module, launch the bundled PCAN‑MicroMod FD Configuration Windows tool, and program the node over the CAN bus. The software maps analog and digital signals to CAN messages and offers advanced processing functions, allowing each module to operate independently on the same network.

After configuration, the PCAN‑MicroMod FD becomes an autonomous CAN node, forwarding data from sensors, actuators and switches directly to the motherboard. The system’s modular design keeps firmware updates and network scaling straightforward.

To accelerate prototyping, PEAK‑System also offers the PCAN‑MicroMod FD Evaluation Board. The board exposes every pin, tap, screw terminal, switch and potentiometer, enabling rapid testing of signal paths and firmware logic.

The PCAN‑MicroMod FD is available alone, with the evaluation board, or as part of a starter kit that includes a USB‑to‑CAN FD adapter and a standard CAN cable. PEAK‑System plans to deliver ready‑to‑use motherboards for common automotive and industrial applications by the end of the year.
