Altizon Launches Four‑Week Industrial IoT Challenge to Deliver Tangible Gains in OEE, Quality, and Energy
Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) offers transformative potential, but many deployments fall short of expectations. Studies—such as Cisco’s 2017 survey and Microsoft’s 2019 IoT Insights research—show that the failure rate for IoT projects remains high.
Vinay Nathan, CEO of IIoT platform provider Altizon, says that organizations often run four or five pilots simply because they don’t know where to start. Altizon aims to change that pattern with its 4‑Week Industrial IoT Challenge.
Based on the experience of nearly 200 IIoT projects across automotive, tire, consumer packaged goods, chemicals, and remote‑asset management, the program targets measurable results: a 15% lift in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), a 3% improvement in process quality, and a 5% reduction in energy and consumables—all within the first four weeks.
Altizon’s executives explain that these numbers aren’t arbitrary. “Over the past seven years, we’ve seen this level of improvement across industries,” Nathan said. The company will use its deep industry knowledge to help participants quickly establish digital footprints, baseline KPIs, and drive rapid productivity gains.
The challenge invites industrial companies to select a manufacturing line for integration with Altizon’s Datonis IoT platform. Participants can use the metrics generated during the pilot as a springboard for further optimization.
Participation costs are described as nominal—typically between $10,000 and $15,000, the standard range for a pilot. While Altizon does not provide a rigid checklist, it does look for a digital department with executive backing and financial support as key prerequisites.
Within a week of the announcement, roughly a dozen companies expressed interest, underscoring the demand for a fast‑track, results‑oriented approach.
Unlike broader, longer‑term programs run by industry consortia, Altizon’s four‑week framework is uniquely focused on manufacturing‑intelligence objectives. “We felt that we have enough know‑how to operationalize something like this at scale,” Nathan said.
