PTC & Rockwell Automation Forge Strategic IoT Alliance

PTC and Rockwell Automation have formalized a strategic partnership, combining PTC’s ThingWorx IoT, Kepware connectivity, and Vuforia AR platforms with Rockwell’s FactoryTalk MES, FactoryTalk Analytics, and industrial automation solutions.

The collaboration will unite the companies’ resources, technologies, and industry expertise to deliver a comprehensive, flexible IoT ecosystem for the connected enterprise. As part of the deal, Rockwell Automation will invest $1 billion in equity in PTC, and Rockwell’s Chairman and CEO, Blake Moret, will join PTC’s board of directors.

The $1 billion investment is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals and is expected to close within 60 days.
