Universal Robots Unveils the World’s Largest Virtual Conference on Collaborative Robots

Universal Robots has launched what it describes as “the world’s largest virtual conference and exhibition for collaborative robots”.

Named “WeAreCobots”, the event will take place June 16-18, 2020, targeting a European audience with automation trend keynotes and an extensive range of product news and demonstrations in five different languages.

With Europe’s trade fair scene being turned upside down because of coronavirus and the resulting lockdowns, Universal Robots says it is breaking new ground.

From June 16-18, from 10am to 4pm CET all three days, the Danish cobot pioneer will host WeAreCobots free of charge.

Visitors from all industries are invited to join, browse the virtual booths, and learn more about the numerous benefits of collaborative automation while participating in inspiring in-depth talks by leading cobot experts.

Having successfully held a similar online fair in Germany in April – the first of its kind – UR is now launching WeAreCobots across Europe in English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.

With over 30 virtual booths and 50 live keynotes by a wide range of robotics experts, visitors will gain valuable insight into the future of automation.

Jürgen von Hollen, president of Universal Robots, says: “At Universal Robots, it has always been our aim to think out of the box and be very solution-oriented even when the challenge seems overwhelming.

“Launching this virtual cobot exhibition underlines this mission and is a great new way to engage with anyone who is interested in learning more about the world of automation.

“With WeAreCobots we offer audiences within all kinds of industries and company sizes the chance to learn more about trends in automation that are especially relevant with the headwinds the world is experiencing these days.”

Von Hollen emphasises the challenges of social distancing and disrupted supply chains in a manufacturing industry trying to ensure business continuity and production uptime while keeping employees safe and sound.

He adds: “We are very excited to offer this unique, engaging virtual space where attendees can experience all the ways collaborative automation can address these challenges.”

Rich agenda featuring experts and 30+ exhibition booths

WeAreCobots says it will feature a multi-faceted agenda consisting of 50 live keynotes on topics such as trends and insights from leading experts, highlighting the possibilities of Universal Robots’ UR+ ecosystem and how to get the best out of your cobot from Universal Robots Academy.

The expo will also have tracks with live demonstrations of innovative automation applications such as packaging and palletizing, sanding & polishing, machine tending, and screwdriving. All the talks will be available in English, German, French, Spanish and Italian.

Across more than 30 virtual exhibition booths, visitors can engage in 1-to-1-conversations with UR experts as well as UR+ partners. Furthermore, they can participate in live demos of UR cobots and applications.
