GT 112-E Magazine Bar Feeder – Seamless Unattended & Lights‑Out Lathe Production

LNS America’s GT 112-E automatic magazine bar feeder has been designed for sliding headstock machines running unattended or lights-out production using small bar stock with diameters ranging from 0.8 to 12.7 mm.

A dual, U-shaped guiding channel system, a  sectional cover, and a self-centering bar clamping system match the entire diameter range of the lathe. A single pitch screw magazine keeps small bars separated for consistent and reliable bar loading. Two versions are available, one for bars measuring 12 ft. 2" and another for bars measuring 6 ft. 6".

Setup is quick and involves inputting bar diameter, feed-out length and guiding element diameter into a  handheld, touch-screen remote control (HMI). The bar feeder automatically sets pushing torque, forward speed and feeding length.

Other features include: electro-mechanical headstock synchronization of bar stock; a safety joint pipe spindle reduction system that contains the bar and eliminates the need for spindle liners; a magazine tray which holds up to 30 bars with diameters of 7 mm or less, and 15 bars with diameters over 7 mm; and a compact design to take up less floor space. An optional 400-mm Z-axis bar feeder retraction system enables simpler maintenance access.
