Edge Technologies Rebel V-65 Servo: Compact Loader with 650 mm Magazine Capacity for CNC Lathes

Edge Technologies’ Rebel V-65 Servo short bar loader features a 5- to 65-mm diameter capacity for feeding spindle-length round, square, hexagonal and shaped barstock into CNC lathes.

The loading storage capacity is 650 mm (25.6") deep. Bars are loaded from the rear of the feeder, and the inclination of the storage table can be adjusted to give the V-65 Servo a soft-load effect. Bars are then lowered into the feeding channel via urethane guides, eliminating the potential for marring the bar surface. Barstock with lengths up to 1,200 mm (48") can be loaded. Maximum bar length is determined by the spindle length of the lathe and the chuck. The barstock is loaded into the main spindle of the lathe by a linear feed mechanism with a servo and encoder. An adjustment mechanism sets the correct height for the lathe’s centerline according to bar diameter for precise loading into the spindle liner. The bar feeder comes equipped with three pusher rods to cover the full range of diameters.

The Rebel V-65 Servo features a Mitsubishi programmable logic controller (PLC) and a push-button screen interface with LCD display. Feed force is automatically set after the bar diameter is entered into the touchscreen control. The operator enters the bar diameter and part length, and then the feeder automatically adjusts parameters for loading, feedout, and bar change. It includes a shaft-loading option and a subspindle “feed-on-the-fly” option with a “return and wait” pusher feature. An axial track mechanism configured for X-axis movement allows for maintenance access to the back of the lathe spindle.
