Fanuc Introduces Ultra-Compact SCARA Robots for Speed-Driven Assembly
Fanuc America today unveiled its first SCARA robots, the SR-3iA and SR-6iA, designed for assembly, testing, inspection, and packaging tasks.
These robots combine an ultra-compact, lightweight frame with four axes of motion, a 360° work envelope, and ±0.01 mm repeatability, delivering unprecedented speed and precision for material-handling applications.
The SR-3iA carries a 3-kg payload and reaches 400mm, while the SR-6iA can lift 6-kg up to 650mm. Both models run on Fanuc’s new R-30iB Compact Plus controller, which occupies minimal space.
Programming is simplified with the web-based iRProgrammer interface, allowing operators to set up and code the robot from a tablet or PC—an optional teach pendant is also available.
