CBW Automation Demonstrates Advanced In‑Mold Labeling and Rapid Mold Switching Solutions
CBW Automation has demonstrated its in‑mold labeling (IML) expertise by producing four rectangular containers in just 3.9 seconds on a Netstal Elion 3200 hybrid press.
In addition, CBW unveiled two flexible automation systems that enable rapid product changeovers in only 10–30 minutes. By redesigning the vacuum interface and adding recipe‑storage programming, processors can now run low‑volume jobs and reuse automation across multiple products. The modular Advantage A‑Series and BeeLine B‑Series side‑entry robots are designed for quick delivery—available in as little as eight weeks.
BeeLine B‑Series Demolding System
At the exhibition, a BeeLine B‑Series robot removed parts from a 2 × 4 injection‑compression stack mold on a BMB press. The 220‑m.t. machine ran a 4.5‑second cycle with a 0.6‑second robot intrusion time. The robot incorporates top‑entry features such as a strip stroke with high‑vacuum part removal and a “part‑missing” vacuum sensor. It also offers an adjustable centerline height, allowing it to be positioned on different molding machines, and a universal “pick” that can retrieve parts from either the A‑D or B‑C face of the stack mold.
Advantage Robot on Netstal Elios 7500
A second CBW installation at the KraussMaffei booth used a Netstal Elios 7500 machine to produce 2 × 8 stack‑molded 16‑ounce (409) deli containers in under 3 seconds. The Advantage robot delivered a high‑speed strip stroke with powerful vacuum, further reducing cycle time and improving throughput.
