Wittmann Battenfeld Cancels Biennial Open House & Technical Symposium Amid COVID-19
Wittmann Battenfeld has canceled its biennial Open House and Technical Symposium, originally scheduled for September 24‑25 at its U.S. headquarters in Connecticut, due to the planning challenges imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.
“We made this decision now as it is too difficult for our customers and partners to make plans considering the current Covid‑19 crisis,” said David Preusse, President of Wittmann Battenfeld Inc. In his statement, Preusse emphasized the company’s priority to support front‑line manufacturers as an essential supplier, stating that “our day‑to‑day operations must take precedence over the open house.”
The event, held every two years, typically attracts hundreds of attendees. This year’s program had featured eight operating workcells showcasing the company’s molding machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment, along with industry partners supplying materials, molds, and hot runners. The symposium has not been rescheduled.
Wittmann Battenfeld’s decision underscores its commitment to navigating uncertainty while maintaining critical supply chain responsibilities.
