Secure Linux Solutions for the Intelligent Edge: Expert Webinar
On September 8, Wind River will host a webinar that explores the intelligent edge — specifically, how to build industry-specific embedded Linux solutions at the edge, and how to do so securely.
From the webinar’s description:
The intelligent edge is gaining momentum in the embedded development community and across industries. The worldwide edge computing market is projected to reach 250.6 billion U.S. dollars by 2024, according to Statista. Linux is the default environment for most software developers and is a popular choice for embedded solutions. However, one of Linux’s greatest strengths — and one of its challenges — is that it comes in so many flavors and varieties, each suited to a particular use case.
Strong as they are for general-purpose IT use cases, enterprise Linux distributions are generally not suitable for embedded uses. Purpose-built embedded Linux distributions can provide smaller memory and storage footprint and longer support lifecycles, along with high reliability.
Key takeaways:
- Considerations for starting with embedded vs. general purpose Linux for intelligent edge projects
- Building industry-specific embedded Linux solutions at the edge
- Creating a secure embedded Linux product for the edge
