Boost PLCnext Web HMI with xVision IOT for Industry 4.0

Crickets Automation is proud to present its scada/webHmi xvision.IOT solution running on Phoenix Contact’s PLCnext. xVision IOT is an innovative solution for Industry 4.0 that allows you to enhance ehmi interface on PLCnext and integrate new native drivers to connect your machines and devices easily and safely. Here’s how to do it and what the benefits are.

What is xVision IOT?

xVision.IOT is an intelligent web Scada software that collects, unifies and distributes data from connected machines and devices. It is a modular, scalable solution that requires no programming and can be quickly configured with a single platform editor. xVision.IOT supports the main industrial communication protocols, such as OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus Tcp and restful API, and offers advanced features such as store & forward and cloud connectors.

How to install xVision.IOT?

Installing xVision.IOT is very quick and easy. You need a PLCnext AXC F 2152, which is the ideal model for retrofitting existing machines. It is a compact and robust Linux based device, equipped with two Ethernet communication ports and combined and configurable I/O modules. Thanks to integrated Docker/Podman support, xVision web scada can be download in form of an app from the PLCnext Store: https://www.plcnextstore.com/permalinks/apps/latest/60002172000687

Install the APP from the WBM of your PLCnext device and start the application:

After few minutes you’ll see two new services enabled on your PLC; TCP5443 that offer you a customizable new ehmi, and TCP27015 listening for the download of a new WebScada project realized with xVision Editor (free download from here: https://crickets-it.com/en/resources/)

At the first time the ehmi will show anything new on port 5443 since no project is still in execution, so the first time you need to open xVision Editor and simply download the example project on the PLC. Open xVision project editor and chose as target an IOT device:

When the DEMO 80 project is open in the Editor, convert it in web project:

Finally download it on the PLCnext:

Now with your normal browser you can point to: https://IPplcnext:5443 You’ll see a new wonderful interface showing the full potential of our solution. Just to have an idea take a look here: https://demo.crickets-it.com/?user=demo&pw=demo Such project can run directly on your PLC!! You can have trends, receipts, multiple HQ object and much much more!
