Expert Shaft Manufacturing: Precision Processes & Custom Solutions
A shaft is a toothed wheel that meshes with another shaft’s teeth, enabling continuous transmission of rotational power. Engineers mix and match gears and shafts of varying diameters to tailor torque and speed for specific applications.
Shifts in aerospace, agriculture, automotive, consumer goods, transportation, oil & gas, mining, and industrial manufacturing demand shafts that can deliver and channel force reliably. From the drivetrain of a car to the lift mechanisms on a plane, the shaft is a critical component that must meet stringent performance criteria.
Below is an overview of how FZE Manufacturing delivers precision shafts, the advanced techniques we use, and the breadth of materials and capabilities we offer.
How the Shaft Manufacturing Process Works
The backbone of our production line is CNC turning. In this subtractive process, bars of material are securely clamped to a spindle and rotated at high speeds while precision tools carve the shaft to its final geometry. Because the machining is computer‑controlled, we can maintain tolerances as tight as 0.0002” (0.00508 mm) on every part.
FZE’s facility houses a portfolio of state‑of‑the‑art equipment—from custom tooling and fixturing to multi‑axis machines—that allows us to tackle even the most complex design requirements with speed and accuracy.
FZE’s Shaft‑Manufacturing Capabilities
We source over three dozen raw‑material grades, enabling us to produce shafts that meet your exact specification:
