Senseye Introduces Virtual Sensor Feature to Unlock Full Value of Existing Machine Data

Senseye, an industrial software company using AI for machine health management, has announced a new release of Senseye PdM Enterprise, featuring the ability to create virtual sensors from existing data sources.

Data collected from machines are often not ideally suited for AI-driven predictive maintenance. The new feature allows customers to easily configure additional parameters related to machine health, allowing them to get more value from existing data capture.

Virtual sensors appear in the platform just like normal measures - shown on charts and run through the same award-winning analytics engine, helping customers uncover and predict underlying issues.

Example use cases include:

• Removing noise from data that does not relate to machine condition
• Filtering particular machine states
• Normalising data to make it more meaningful when seen by the user
• Combining sensor data to reveal new information

For some time, Senseye’s PdM Stream offering has been used by Senseye’s condition monitoring specialists to apply pre-processing rules and algorithms to sensor and process data and generate suitable condition monitoring data for more complex predictive maintenance cases without drawing on the resources of a customer’s IT department. The addition of the virtual sensors feature in Senseye PdM Enterprise means the ability to transform data is now in the hands of users on the factory floor.
