SKF Microlog Advisor Pro: On‑Site, Easy Machine Condition Diagnosis

The new SKF Microlog Advisor Pro gives maintenance, service and quality inspection technicians an on‑the‑spot, intuitive diagnosis of machine condition. It operates independently of prior measurement data and does not require advanced predictive‑maintenance software, enabling teams to adopt a proactive maintenance strategy without needing vibration expertise or a complex PdM system.

Designed for both experts and novices, the Advisor Pro is ideal for service, maintenance, inspection and diagnostic work. As the first three‑channel handheld tool in the SKF Microlog family, it combines the familiar reliability of a Microlog device with an intuitive user interface, wizard‑driven measurement instructions and an automated analysis engine built on ISO standards. Green, yellow and red colour‑codes instantly communicate test status, invalid or abnormal results, and overall machine health.

"The Microlog Adviser Pro puts a range of maintenance and diagnostic tasks in the hands of experts and non‑experts alike," said Paul Edwards, Product Manager, SKF. "The Advisor Pro is a productivity tool for service, maintenance and inspection teams, giving fast and easy to understand diagnosis, with the ability to expand the tool’s functionality as analysis needs change – without the need to purchase another instrument. But it’s not all about the specifications. We know our customers look at the bigger picture when investing in maintenance equipment. SKF Microlog has been, and remains at the leading edge of condition monitoring and vibration analysis technology. This pedigree gives our customers security, and with SKF, they get the confidence and peace of mind from working with one of the most respected and widely‑used vibration data analysis and industrial global service brands in the world."

The unit boasts a 25,600‑line resolution colour display, a powerful computing engine, high‑performance data‑acquisition hardware, DSP technology and a 40 kHz Fmax. It offers up to eight hours of continuous use on a single charge, and memory can be expanded via SD card. When needed, data can be exported for advanced analysis and report generation.

Pre‑configured, application‑specific kits provide all necessary accessories and sensors, including modules such as Spindle Assessment and Idler Sound Monitor.

For deeper analysis, a PC‑based Analysis and Reporting module is available. After uploading data, the module automatically displays it in the main window, and a single click opens a powerful, interactive graphical plot. The module also offers post‑processing features that help users extract maximum value from their Advisor Pro data, with a full range of Microlog accessories available.

Customization is further enhanced by a suite of application modules that can be added as user needs evolve, extending the hardware’s capabilities without buying a new instrument. Available modules include Balancing, Bump Analysis, Recorder, Frequency Response Function, Run‑up/Coast‑down and Check to Conformance. These modules enable advanced tasks such as impact tests, digital recording, modal analysis, transient phenomena analysis and quality inspections—all from the same handheld device.
