Lang Technik USA Expands Operations with New 23,000‑sq‑ft Wisconsin Facility

Lang Technik USA Expands Operations with New 23,000‑sq‑ft Wisconsin Facility

On May 12, 2026, Lang Technik USA celebrated the grand opening of its state‑of‑the‑art facility in Hartland, Wisconsin. General Manager Jon Dobosenski highlighted that the new plant represents a significant commitment to the U.S. market, with roughly half the space dedicated to inventory—nearly $14 million worth of parts ready for distribution to American manufacturers.

The 23,000‑sq‑ft site also marks Lang Technik’s first U.S. production location. The plant will combine a Hermle C22 machining center with Lang’s proprietary RoboTrex automation system to streamline manufacturing and reduce lead times.

Lang’s Makro Grip clamping system can securely hold parts up to 33 inches long, with customization options for larger pieces. Its specialized stamping pattern improves rigidity and reduces stress on workpieces.

Bigger Workholding Solutions

Regional Manager Cory Rigg emphasized that the company’s workholding solutions now accommodate larger aerospace, defense, and spaceflight components. The Quick Point zero‑point clamping system—an adaptable platform—can combine up to two double and one single modular plate along the Y‑axis and any number along the X‑axis, enabling it to grip elongated parts. Various vises, chucks, and tombstones can be mounted on these plates.

The Makro Grip system delivers 5‑micron repeatability when paired with Quick Point and 10‑micron when used alone. Its stamping unit eliminates the need for dovetailing; it can stamp up to 45 Rockwell material, allowing users to reduce vise torque by up to 60% and thereby lower work‑piece stress.

Lang also customizes fixtures, such as a lightweight aluminum pyramid that meets a customer’s weight limit while maintaining clamping performance.

The RoboTrex Compact offers a space‑efficient solution—up to 100 vises in 20 sq‑ft—ideal for smaller workshops while still handling large parts.

Smaller Automation Systems

While the company’s workholding range expands, its automation platforms have been refined for scalability. The standard RoboTrex system features two carts that allow simultaneous setup and operation. It requires no machine‑side pneumatics, using the robot’s end effector to exchange vises and an optical system for automatic part identification—simplifying programming and integration. A full setup can be completed in under five days.

The Compact version, unveiled at EMO 2025, delivers the same core functionality in a smaller footprint and is offered as an out‑of‑the‑box solution, while the standard model remains highly customizable.
