Renesas Finalizes Acquisition of IDT, Expanding Embedded Technology Portfolio
Renesas Electronics has completed its acquisition of Integrated Device Technology (IDT), creating a powerhouse in embedded solutions. By merging IDT’s expertise in RF, high‑performance timing, memory interface, real‑time interconnect, optical interconnect, wireless power and smart sensors with Renesas’s microcontrollers, SoCs and power‑management ICs, the combined company now offers a broader, cutting‑edge technology suite.
The expanded portfolio unlocks new product categories for high‑growth data‑economy markets—industrial, infrastructure, automotive—providing customers and partners worldwide with integrated solutions that deliver superior performance and reliability.
To demonstrate the synergy, Renesas and IDT launched 15 ‘Winning Combinations,’ showcasing how complementary product families can be combined. Highlights include IDT automotive timing paired with Renesas R‑Car processors for infotainment, an IDT gas sensor with a Renesas MCU for IoT building‑automation air‑quality control, and other solutions for base‑station, wireline and server applications.
