Murata’s RFID‑on‑Metal Tag Eliminates Metal Interference for Tool Tracking

Murata’s RFID‑on‑Metal Tag Eliminates Metal Interference for Tool Tracking

Murata’s LXTBKZMCMG‑010 is a compact 6.0 × 2.0 × 2.3 mm RFID tag that mounts directly onto metal surfaces. By overcoming the detuning and signal reflection that plague conventional RFID tags near metal, it delivers reliable read performance, enabling accurate tool tracking, warranty management, and user accountability.

When integrated into a tool‑tracking system, the tag enhances loss prevention, eliminates time spent locating equipment, and supplies actionable analytics. It stores data in two memory banks: a 128‑bit EPC bank that uniquely identifies the attached asset, and a 32‑bit user bank that can hold descriptive information.

The tag achieves a read range of up to 150 cm within the UHF band of 865 MHz to 928 MHz. It supports simultaneous multi‑item reads and complies with ISO 18000‑63 and EPC Global Gen 2 V2 standards. Additionally, the LXTBKZMCMG‑010 is 100 % RoHS compliant.

Retailing at approximately $6.14, the LXTBKZMCMG‑010 is available through Murata’s distributor network.
