Real-Time Analytics Weekly Update – Key Insights & Industry Moves

Real-Time Analytics Weekly Update – Key Insights & Industry Moves

In the news this week: a data management provider teams with the GPU leader, the DOE provides $15 million in funding to speed the development of ML and AI, app developers get an easier way to use Kubernetes, and more.

Keeping pace with news and developments in the real-time analytics market can be a daunting task. We want to help by providing a summary of some of the items our staff came across each week. Here is a short list of some news from this week:

DDN, a provider of artificial intelligence (AI) and multi-cloud data management solutions, announced that it has worked with NVIDIA to combine the power of NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD systems with DDN’s A3I data management system so customers can deploy HPC infrastructure with minimal complexity and reduced timelines. By leveraging the new NVIDIA Magnum IO software stack to optimize IO and DDN’s parallel file system, businesses can speed up data science workflows by up to 20 times. The NVIDIA Magnum IO software suite increases performance and reduces latency to move massive amounts of data used in AI and HPC applications from storage to GPUs.

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) announced $15 million in funding for 23 projects to accelerate the incorporation of machine learning and artificial intelligence into the energy technology and product design processes as part of the Design Intelligence Fostering Formidable Energy Reduction (and) Enabling Novel Totally Impactful Advanced Technology Enhancements (DIFFERENTIATE) program. Launched in April of this year, the DIFFERENTIATE program aims to develop streamlined solutions to next-generation energy challenges.

HyScale made its app delivery automation tool open-source for development teams who are looking for a friction-free way of deploying to Kubernetes. The open-source move underlines HyScale’s commitment to the app development community that wants to adopt Kubernetes but must follow a script-heavy, error-prone deployment process. HyScale simplifies deploying to k8s by providing a service-centric spec, and getting the app URL in return, saving time and effort in dev-testing cycles before taking it to production.

Accruent, a provider of solutions for the built environment, and Synchronoss Technologies, Inc., a provider of cloud, messaging, digital, and Internet of Things (IoT) products, have announced a partnership that will combine the Synchronoss Insights Platform with Accruent’s vx Observe IoT asset monitoring software. The collaboration will deliver valuable insights and efficiencies to businesses and greatly expand the effectiveness of enterprise IoT solutions by providing better analytics capabilities, asset control expertise, and workflow integration.
