AAEON Unveils the GENE‑TGU6 Sub‑Compact Embedded Board for Edge AI, Signage, and Industrial Automation

AAEON introduces the GENE‑TGU6 sub‑compact embedded board, powered by Intel’s 11th‑Generation Core U processors. Designed for AI edge computing, digital signage, and industrial automation, the board delivers a blend of performance, flexibility, and ruggedness.
Leveraging the latest Intel Core U architecture, the GENE‑TGU6 achieves up to 20 % higher performance compared to prior generations. Its thermal‑optimized design and the use of industrial‑grade CPU SKUs enable reliable operation in extreme temperatures, from ‑40 °C to 85 °C (standard platforms support 0 °C to 60 °C).
With integrated Intel Iris Xe embedded graphics, the board can drive up to four simultaneous 4K displays through five on‑board video outputs—four HDMI/DP 1.4a connectors and a high‑speed LVDS (eDP optional) interface—making it ideal for high‑resolution digital signage and kiosk deployments.
The Iris Xe graphics pair with Intel’s OpenVINO toolkit and Deep Learning Boost to deliver AI inference speeds 30 – 40 % faster than earlier models. Developers can tap into this acceleration for computer‑vision, speech, and other edge‑AI workloads.
Connectivity is robust: two Gigabit LAN ports—one Intel i225 offering up to 2.5 Gbps and an Intel i219 at 1 Gbps—plus four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type‑C port provide ample interface options.
