VersaLogic Introduces the Sabertooth PCIe/104 Embedded Computer

The Sabertooth is a compact, high‑performance PC104 platform that integrates Intel® Xeon® “Coffee Lake Refresh” or 9th‑gen Core™ i3 processors, up to 32 GB ECC memory, a soldered 128 GB NVMe SSD, and a three‑bank expansion system that delivers an x16 PCIe Gen 3 lane for demanding peripherals.

Designed for Edge Computing

Two performance tiers are available. The top‑tier models feature an Intel® Xeon‑E 6‑core CPU and provide the full bandwidth of an x16 PCIe Gen 3 interface, enabling stackable GPUs, FPGAs, or 10 Gb Ethernet adapters. The lower‑tier line offers a low‑power 9th‑gen Core™ i3 for applications that do not require the full Xeon horsepower.

Robust Connectivity

Beyond the primary x16 PCIe lane, the Sabertooth offers four secondary PCIe x1 slots, USB, and SMBus. Additional ports include SATA III, USB 3.2 Gen 1, Gigabit Ethernet, serial, I²C, GPIO, and Mini DisplayPort.

Compact, Rugged, and Reliable

Measuring 96 × 90 × 43 mm, the Sabertooth delivers exceptional performance in a tight footprint. It is qualified for industrial temperatures from –40 °C to +85 °C and meets MIL‑STD‑202H shock and vibration requirements. With a typical 10‑year production life cycle, it guarantees long‑term availability for mission‑critical deployments.

Custom Modifications and Support

VersaLogic offers low‑volume OEM modifications such as conformal coating, revision locks, custom labeling, and tailored testing and screening. Technical support is U.S.‑based and available to assist with design integration and troubleshooting.
