Fully‑Managed IoT Gateway Accelerates Development and Deployment
The Cloud of Things (CoT) Smart IoT Gateway delivers a secure, cloud‑centric platform that aggregates sensor and equipment data right at the edge. It supports both local and cloud‑based analytics, making it ideal for home monitoring, security, lighting, and smart appliances.
CoT’s fully‑managed cloud services accelerate the evaluation, prototyping, and development of IoT connectivity solutions. At the recent ICSA West trade show in Las Vegas (19‑21 July 2021), the company showcased the gateway built on its DeviceTone technology, a ready‑to‑run stack that streamlines cloud‑centric application design (see Figure 1).

The gateway’s wireless interface is powered by the fully‑certified DHAN‑M ULE module, which runs embedded OpenWRT. The module includes a secure U‑Boot bootloader, fail‑safe firmware‑over‑the‑air (FOTA), dual Ethernet ports, and Wi‑Fi, all packed into an 82 × 82 × 30 mm enclosure that weighs just 220 g (see Figure 2).

By simplifying the wireless stack, the ULE module mitigates challenges posed by noisy RF environments, helping sensor‑to‑hub links remain robust. DSP Group’s experience porting silicon‑based algorithms to major cloud providers—AWS, Baidu, and Google—adds further confidence that the gateway is truly cloud‑ready.
