Yantracraft Delivers Accurate 1:20 Golden Temple Scale Model Using Divide By Zero’s Accucraft i250D

Technological breakthroughs are reshaping medicine, academia, architecture, and more. Among these, 3D printing stands out as a discreet hero, enabling small‑to‑medium businesses (SMBs) to prototype quickly, cost‑effectively, and with precision. Divide By Zero, an industrial‑grade 3D printer manufacturer, has empowered SMBs across sectors to fully exploit additive manufacturing.

Our client, Mr. Bharat Joshi’s Yantracraft, operates as a one‑person design consultancy focused on exhibition and product displays. Mr. Joshi envisions expanding into a full‑service design firm and establishing a fabrication lab within the next two years. “The Accucraft i250D has been a game‑changer,” he says. By adopting efficient modeling techniques, he delivers accurate models faster.

In 2016, Yantracraft was commissioned by the Government of Punjab to produce a scale model of the Golden Temple, the holiest Gurudwara in Sikhism located in Amritsar. The shrine—Sri Harmandir Sahib—covers 8.2 m × 8.2 m and features intricate gold relief on pillars and roof.

The brief called for a 1:20 scale model, translating to an 8 m × 8 m replica. Delivering this within tight deadlines and faithfully reproducing the delicate goldwork posed significant challenges. Traditional methods would have required manual measurement, iterative cutting, and multiple re‑iterations—wasting material and time while risking inaccuracies.

Yantracraft turned to Divide By Zero’s Accucraft i250D for this critical project. Equipped with quick‑load capability, a high‑speed slicer, and industrial‑grade reliability, the printer accelerated the workflow and ensured precision. The entire Golden Temple complex was first 3D scanned, providing a detailed dataset for accurate scaling and capturing the fine gold relief.

With the scan data, Yantracraft fine‑tuned the model, integrating additive manufacturing and laser cutting to meet the exacting standards required. “Although 3D printing was not the cheapest option, the time saved and the fidelity to the original temple justified the cost,” Mr. Joshi explains.

Thanks to the Accucraft i250D, Yantracraft completed the model in just two months, meeting the Punjab government’s deadline. The finished 8 m × 8 m scale model showcases the temple’s grandeur with remarkable accuracy.
