Robotics Australia Group Invites Industry Experts to Shape Australia's AI & Autonomous Systems Map
Robotics Australia Group is asking creators of robotics and robotics-related technology to complete the Australian Government’s new survey of Australia’s artificial intelligence (AI) and autonomous systems capability.
Stemming from the national meeting of digital economy and technology ministers, held in May, the survey will inform the development of a national AI and autonomous systems capability map. The survey is open until Nov. 29.
Once completed, the map will be shared with Australia’s digital economy and technology ministers and agencies to highlight areas of strength and expertise—to drive greater collaboration domestically and inform the promotion of Australia as a key location for research, development and commercialization.
The map will consider:
- public and private projects and centers of expertise;
- investments;
- case studies that draw on world-leading, unique and/or innovative capabilities in AI and autonomous systems, and the
- skills, infrastructure and talent that underpin these case studies.
Robotics Australia Group Chair Sue Keay acknowledged the Government’s commitment to understanding and highlighting Australia’s national capabilities. “The future of the robotics industry is very promising and the growth that this sector can deliver is essential for Australia’s long-term economic recovery,” she said in prepared remarks. “We commend the Australian government for their work in better understanding the sector and for their commitments to enhancing Australia’s technological capability in the recent budget.”
