Mecademic’s Meca500: A Six-Axis Robot That Fits in Your Hand

Mecademic, a Montreal‑based robotics pioneer, showcased its Meca500 at the recent ATS East conference in New York. The six‑axis robot is small enough to fit comfortably in your hand while still handling payloads up to 500 g (1.1 lb) with an advertised repeatability of just 0.005 mm.

Unlike many industrial robots that require proprietary programming languages, the Meca500 uses a straightforward instruction set, allowing users to get started quickly without extensive training. Since its launch in 2016, the robot has proven versatile in a variety of applications, including:
