Wittmann Battenfeld Expands Primus Robot Line to 1.5‑10 kg Models for 400 mt Injection Presses
Wittmann Battenfeld’s U.S. office in Torrington, Connecticut, has expanded its Primus series of pick‑and‑place robots, offering new models that balance simplicity, affordability, and versatility.
Derived from the robust W8 platform, each Primus robot features three servo‑actuated axes and a streamlined set of options, making them ideal for fast‑turnaround production lines.
Key releases:
- Primus 16 – 5 kg (11 lb) payload, debuted at K 2016.
- Primus 14 – 2 kg (4.4 lb) payload, unveiled at Fakuma 2017 and showcased again at NPE 2018.
- Primus 10 – 1.5 kg (3.3 lb) payload.
- Primus 26 – 10 kg (22 lb) payload.
- Primus 26T – 10 kg (22 lb) payload with a telescopic vertical axis.
These larger variants can now serve injection presses up to 400 metric tons, a significant upgrade from the previous 250 mt ceiling.
All Primus models are equipped with up to four vacuum circuits and the user‑friendly R8 TeachBox control system, enabling rapid programming and seamless integration into existing automation suites.
