Wemo Unveils New Automation Solutions for Injection Molding at Fakuma 2018
Wemo of Sweden, a division of the German Hahn Group, introduced a suite of cutting‑edge automation products at the October 2018 Fakuma show in Germany. The solutions are now available through Hahn Plastics Automation in Avon, Conn., expanding access for U.S. manufacturers.
• 3‑5 Linear Sprue Picker/Robot – Designed for small parts, this servo picker/parts remover features a pneumatic C‑axis wrist, a 1500 mm Z stroke, 300 mm X stroke, and 1000 mm Y stroke. It comes with one vacuum and one gripper circuit, each equipped with a part‑detection sensor. The unit is priced at $11,499 and was also showcased at last month’s Plastec West in Anaheim, California.
• eLine Economical Servo Robots – Tailored for injection machines ranging from 25 to 1000 tons, the 250 model delivers a 25‑kg (55‑lb) payload, making it ideal for 500‑to‑1000‑ton presses. These robots cover 80‑90% of the market and support basic demold‑and‑drop, pick‑and‑place, and secondary operations such as quality checks, labeling, and laser marking.
• xPacker Palletizing Module – An enclosed, plug‑and‑play system that accepts full boxes via a conveyor and uses a linear servo robot to stack them on pallets. Multifunction tooling automatically detects box dimensions and engages only the necessary vacuum holes, eliminating the need for manual setup.
These innovations reinforce Wemo’s commitment to delivering affordable, reliable automation that enhances productivity and flexibility for injection molding facilities worldwide.
