Hahn Group Unveils Cutting‑Edge Automation at K 2019
At the October 2019 K‑Show in Düsseldorf, the Hahn Group showcased three units—Waldorf Technik, Wemo, and GeKu—each unveiling breakthrough automation solutions.
Waldorf Technik enhanced its Vario TIP System for demolding and cavity sorting of syringe barrels. The updated process now enables digital printing immediately after demolding. Following cavity sorting and two rigorous QC checks, the cylinders undergo plasma treatment, digital printing, and UV‑drying—streamlining production and ensuring superior surface finish.
Waldorf also introduced the new EVE Suite from Hahn Digital. EVE Analytics offers remote monitoring of system status via PC, smartphone, or tablet, while EVE Support delivers guided remote maintenance through augmented‑reality interfaces and smart glasses, enhancing uptime and reducing field service costs.
Wemo, the provider of Cartesian robots, presented its new WIPS 4.0 control software and lightweight handheld pendant, W‑Hp12. The 10.1‑inch color touchscreen features a custom start page, integrated touch pen, swipe navigation, and dedicated hardware buttons for key functions such as axis movement, start, stop, and reset. Three tiers of safety buttons—including a “dead‑man’s grip”—ensure operator protection.
Wemo’s latest hardware includes two models of the xPacker fast palletizing robot, first introduced at Fakuma 2018. Its unique vacuum gripper dynamically detects an item’s size and activates only the necessary vacuum channels, reducing energy consumption and increasing throughput.
GeKu demonstrated its newest asset, the Sawyer one‑armed collaborative robot, acquired from the former Rethink Robotics. The Sawyer platform exemplifies safe, collaborative work with humans, offering intuitive programming and adaptive motion control.
These innovations underscore Hahn Group’s commitment to delivering integrated, smart automation solutions that boost efficiency, quality, and operator safety.
