Sepro Unveils Redesign of Its Best‑Selling 5‑Axis Success Robot Line
Sepro, a leading manufacturer of industrial robotics, introduced the redesigned Success 5‑axis robot family in 2011. The lineup—11X, 22X, and 33X—serves injection‑molding machines ranging from 20 to 700 tons and remains the company’s best‑selling product line.
At the 2019 K Conference, Sepro showcased a prototype of the Success 22X, a new general‑purpose 5‑axis robot. The prototype has now been fully integrated into the entire Success range, delivering enhanced performance and versatility.
The updated robots feature a refreshed exterior and, most importantly, an extended standard demolding stroke. A new long‑demolding (LD) configuration adds 200 mm to the stroke, allowing a smaller robot to handle a higher‑tonnage machine than before.
Selected models also offer a longer maximum horizontal stroke, and a telescoping vertical arm can extend that movement by up to 200 mm. Sepro’s patented cam‑follower bearings—now standard on all Cartesian robots—smooth out weight distribution, improve operation, and increase dust tolerance.
The largest three robots in the Success range, designed for 80 to 700‑ton machines, are available in a 5‑axis servo‑‘X’ configuration. The fully servo‑driven wrist can be re‑programmed with simple digital commands, providing greater flexibility and faster changeovers.
Because the servo motors include positional sensors, the robot always knows the exact wrist and gripper location. Full‑axis control and high precision enable the robot to perform complex motions—such as extracting large, intricate parts with minimal clearance or accurately positioning parts for secondary operations—tasks that traditionally required a six‑axis articulating arm.
This new Success 22X robot is one of three completely redesigned robots in Sepro’s best‑selling product range.
