Types of spanners

Double-ended spanner

Open ends are constructed on both ends of these spanners to hold nuts or bolt heads in place. These two ends are angled from the in-between body at 15 to 30 degrees. These are the most often used spanners.

Ring spanner

These kinds of spanners have spherical rings on one or both ends to drip nuts and bolts in order to tighten or loosen them. These rings are bent backward in relation to one another.
