Pepperl+Fuchs’ ECOM Instruments, in collaboration with Iristick, unveils the Visor‑Ex® 01 smart glasses—designed for industrial use in hazardous environments.

Weighing only 180 g, the headset delivers high‑resolution camera and display performance alongside robust communication, all within an ergonomically engineered form factor that prioritizes user comfort.

It serves as the ideal companion for mobile workers who need hands‑free operation and uninterrupted communication, including remote expert support.

Three integrated cameras turn the Visor‑Ex® 01 into a remote expert’s bionic eye.

Two centrally‑mounted 16‑MP cameras capture the wearer’s natural field of view, allowing remote experts to see exactly what the operator sees.

A third camera provides a 6× optical zoom, enabling clear magnification and precise scanning of barcodes and QR codes.

The glasses pair with the ECOM Smart‑Ex® 02 smartphone—built for hazardous zones—to serve as the processing hub, featuring LTE connectivity. A separate pocket unit houses a replaceable battery, creating a lightweight, modular ecosystem that supports diverse industrial applications.

By distributing functions across separate components, the headset remains lightweight while preserving performance, connectivity, and battery endurance.

When connected to the Smart‑Ex® 02, users retain the familiarity of a proven industrial smartphone, benefiting from Android 11’s security, OTA updates, intuitive UI, and total‑cost‑of‑ownership advantages.

Visor‑Ex® 01 holds ATEX/IECEx Zone 1/21 and 2/22 certifications, NEC/CEC Divisions 1 and 2, and an IP68 ingress protection rating. It operates reliably from –20 °C to +60 °C.
