UNF Launches RAMS Center to Boost Reliability and Maintenance Excellence

In partnership with People & Processes Inc., the University of North Florida’s Continuing Education Division has inaugurated the RAMS Center (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Sustainability). The facility will deliver industry‑leading training, coaching, and mentoring to local manufacturers and businesses.

The RAMS Center is housed on UNF’s campus and will operate under the university’s continuing education umbrella, while People & Processes Inc. supplies curriculum, instructors, and consulting expertise. The inaugural session opens this month.

Offering short courses, on‑site consulting, and technical resources, the center focuses on employee development, operations, maintenance, process re‑engineering, and industry‑best practices.

“RAMS addresses the urgent need for advanced capabilities in manufacturing and production, benefits many sectors, and aligns with our strategic priorities,” said Robert Wood, dean of Continuing Education.

“Our mission is to strengthen leadership and education in the business community,” said Jeff Shiver, president of People & Processes Inc. “Partnering with UNF allows us to bring proven expertise to the region, and we’ve already established an on‑campus office to support the program.”

The initial curriculum includes: Maintenance & Reliability for Managers (4‑part series); Maintenance Planning & Scheduling; Materials Management; Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Development; Total Productive Maintenance; and customized training for client needs.
