Megger Gifts $10,000 Worth of Testing Equipment to Iowa Lakes Wind Energy Program

Iowa Lakes Community College has received a generous in‑kind donation from Megger, valued at $10,000, to support its Wind Turbine Energy Program.

Megger, a global leader in precision testing instruments for transformers, batteries, and underground cables, supplied a range of high‑quality tools that will provide students with essential, hands‑on experience in the rapidly growing renewable energy sector.

The donation includes:

Megger also provided educational resources, including the "Stitch In Time" series of electrical insulation testing manuals and the "Getting Down To Earth" guide to earth resistance testing. These materials will be integrated into classroom instruction, offering students practical, industry‑relevant knowledge.

“The donated instruments are highly interactive and will make our graduates far more marketable,” said Doug Zemler, Wind Energy and Turbine Technology instructor. “Students will gain hands‑on experience with industry‑standard equipment, preparing them for careers in renewable energy.”
