Optimal Thread Infeed Passes for Tool Longevity & Thread Quality
Normally it is a practice when a component requires threading we just try to manage the threading cut depth and rarely pay attention to number of thread infeed passes the threading tool takes.
An increase or decrease in number of threading tool infeed passes than required is not recommended and might arise following problems,
- Decrease in threading insert life.
- Threading insert premature breakage or wear.
- Thread finish might not be okay.
